Send Us a Video

We can usually work out what is wrong from a short video — which gets you an answer the same day, and means when we do come out we arrive with the right part on the truck.

Most shutter and screen problems are recognisable on sight to someone who installs these every week. A minute of video saves you waiting for a service window, and saves us guessing.

What to record — about 60 seconds

  1. Stand back far enough to get the whole opening in frame, including the housing above it. We need to see the system as a whole before the detail.
  2. Run it. Try to close it and let it get stuck. That is the part we actually need — a still photo of a stopped shutter tells us far less than watching it stop.
  3. Get in close on whatever looks wrong — the track, the slats, the bottom bar, the motor housing.
  4. Say what happens out loud. Noises, how far it gets, when it started. Your description is genuinely useful.
  5. Show us the controls if there is a wall switch or a remote.

Shoot it in daylight if you can, and hold the phone steady for a couple of seconds on each shot. Video compresses badly when it is moving, and a blurry close-up of a track tells us nothing.

Where to send it

Text it to the office or email it, whichever is easier. Include your address and the best number to reach you so we can match it to your job.

Text or call the office

Send the video to the same number you would call. If it is easier to talk it through first, that is fine too.

If it turns out to need a visit, we will tell you that plainly — and we will already know what to bring.
