Port Charlotte is mostly single storey, mostly owner-occupied, and mostly built before anybody

Compare that with a two-storey beach house or a home that stands empty from May — the
places panels genuinely fail. Neither describes most of this town.
Steel or clear

Be honest about the afternoon
Panels are cheap because you supply the labour, and on a fifteen-opening house that is hours
rather than minutes. The question is not whether you can. It is whether you will, on a
Thursday, with a forecast that might still turn, for the third time in a season that produced two
false alarms.
If the honest answer is no, accordions cost
more once and never ask you again. If the honest answer is yes, panels are the best value on this
page and there is nothing more to discuss.
And the lanai
No set of panels closes a wide covered lanai, and on a canal home that is the largest exposed
opening. Panels on the windows and a screen across
the lanai is the specification that protects the most house per dollar in this town.
Port Charlotte is unincorporated, so permitting runs through Charlotte County and is handled as
part of the job.
