Roll Down Shutters in Port Charlotte, FL
The most capable shutter we build, and on a Port Charlotte house it usually belongs

A roll down shutter costs more per opening than an accordion.
On a house with fifteen similar windows that difference multiplies into real money, and the honest
recommendation on most of this housing stock is accordions on the windows and roll downs only where
they do something an accordion cannot:
- The canal-side slider. Wide, and the opening you actually look through. A roll
down spans it and disappears when up. - Anything you cannot comfortably reach — over a pool deck, above a roof
line, a gable window. - The house you leave for the summer. One button and it is closed, dark and
secure for the season.

Both are made in our shop in Cape Coral on a box sized to your opening — which is also why
a replacement part in year nine is a drive rather than a freight order. The bigger slat is not the
stronger one; the double wall on the 55mm is where the capacity comes from.
Retrofitting onto sixty-year-old block
A roll down housing and its tracks have to be fixed into something that will hold them, and on
1960s and 70s block that gets checked rather than assumed. Occasionally the wall needs work first.
We would sooner find that at the quote than on the install, and it is one of the reasons we look at
the house rather than pricing off a photograph.
Port Charlotte is unincorporated, so permitting runs through Charlotte County and is handled as
part of the job. Every motorized system has a manual override, so a power cut is not a problem.

Almost always, but it gets verified rather than assumed on 1960s and 70s construction. That is part of why we look at the house instead of quoting off a photo.
Do they work without power?
Yes. Every motorized system we install has a manual override and you crank it down by hand.
